AURI wishes to express its appreciation to the team who initiated a study of feasibility of raising meat goats in Minnesota and seeing this publication to completion:

Appreciation is expressed to the producers in the State of Minnesota and elsewhere, who shared their knowledge of goats and made this publication more useful.  The Minnesota Department of Agriculture was a helpful resource in planning the study.

The team is grateful to Isse Ahmad and Bile Soldat of Minnesota Halal Market Inc. for help in conducting the consumer survey of the Somali community in the Twin Cities.

Additional efforts remain to determine the feasibility of raising meat goats in Minnesota.  This will require production studies within Minnesota’s climate using various management systems.  Identification and support of cooperators will be vital.
