Olson named interim director
Crookston, Minn. -Edgar Olson has
been selected by the Agricultural Utilization
Research Institute (AURI), board of directors as
the new interim executive director. Olson, a
farmer from Fosston, is in his 7th term as
representative in the Minnesota State
Legislature.
"I'm excited to be part of this
organization," Olson says. "I feel I
can contribute ideas that we can use to our
benefit to spread the mission and image of
AURI."
Olson is a grain and livestock producer who
has served on numerous agricultural and
legislative committees including the House
Agriculture, Education and Transportation
committees. Olson is also a past president of the
American Sheep Producers Council and member of
the Meat and Livestock Board.
"Developing new and value-added products
is something that is near and dear to me,"
Olson says. "I've been involved with new
product development work and I see AURI as the
conduit that can help move ideas to
reality."

AURI Board Chair Julie Bleyhl. "We are very
confident in his ability to continue moving the
institute forward."
