from Jackson. |

HAROLD KOSBAU represents
small business on the AURI board of directors and
operates Kosbau Brothers, Inc. in Grand Rapids. |

AURI Executive Director EDGAR
OLSON works from AURI's Crookston
headquarters. A life-long farmer from Fosston,
Olson was named interim director in July of 1997
and took over the post permanently in August. |

TODD THOMPSON joined AURI as
deputy director for market development in January
1997. Thompson, originally from Hastings, Minn.,
oversees staff in the four regional offices from
his St. Paul post. |

KEITH SANNES, deputy director
for commercial development, oversees AURI's
technical efforts and labs. Sannes is a seasoned
staffer who has been with the Institute since its
beginnings in 1989. |

EDWARD WENE is AURI's
specialist in microbiology and fermentation
science. Wene is a leading researcher in hybrid
poplar cultivation and use, and is also involved
in a project using global positioning systems in
small grain farming. |

Food scientist CHARAN WADHAWAN provides
AURI clients with expertise in food product
development. Wadhawan has wide practice in
product formulation, nutritional assessment,
labeling, scale-up and quality control. |

TODD SISSON coordinates
AURI's pilot plant services. A staffer since
1992, Sisson is also facilitating aquaculture
feed production to boost aquaculture
profitability. |

DEB KOEHNTOP provides office
support to the Morris AURI office. Koehntop, who
also farms grain and hogs, joined the institute
in 1995. |

Southeast Field Office General
Manager LISA GJERSVIK has been with AURI
since 1989. From the Waseca office, Gjersvik
works with emerging businesses in 22 counties of
southeastern Minnesota. |

JOAN CONWAY is program
specialist for the Southeast Field Office in
Waseca. Conway works directly with clients and
helps to educate the public about AURI. |

JODY KOUBSKY, program
specialist for the Central Field Office in
Morris, keeps clients up-to-date on AURI
programs. Koubsky, who also partners in a private
sheep operation, joined AURI in March 1997. |

DARRELL BARTHOLOMEW is AURI's
animal products specialist, assisting in the
research and development of meat products. An
accredited HACCP instructor, he also trains small
and intermediate meat processors in meat safety. |

Formerly general manager of the
Southeast Field Office, BILL STOLL provides
expertise and guidance for food product and dairy
clients as a 35-year veteran of industry and
university food product work. Stoll is based at
the St. Paul campus of the University of
Minnesota. |
