A Web
site for ag educators
By E. M. Morrison
Crookston, Minn. -- Minnesota ag
educators' very own Web site is under construction. Students, faculty, and administrators
at the University of Minnesota-Crookston and St. Paul have teamed up to build a Web
resource with everything from Extension reports to value-added education curriculum.
"There's no place like it on the
Web," says Richard Nelson, chair of the UMC agriculture division. The new Web site
will make it easy for teachers and students to look up data on Minnesota agriculture.
"It's really a task of linking existing resources," says Nelson, who is
designing the site.
Nelson envisions links to dozens of state
ag organizations. The U of M Extension is already an active partner and the Department of
Agriculture, Department of Children, Families and Learning, commodity groups, research
institutions, agri-businesses and trade organizations are invited to join the effort.
There will be a directory of state ag teachers, a bulletin board of events, and space for
youth groups like 4H and FFA.
Look for the Minnesota ag educators'
home page later this year.
