Prairie Smoke Bar-B-Que Sauce is a student-run entrepreneurship project. Our classroom is located at the high school in Westbrook-Walnut Grove, Minnesota. The business has its own board of directors, and all of the day-to-day tasks of the business are performed during the 90-minute class hour in the school day. The sauce is bottled in the Westbrook-Walnut Grove cafeteria during the summer. Students are hired to bottle the sauce and are paid minimum wage. The marketing and distributing parts of the project are carried out during the school year.

We are currently selling our sauce at the new Cabela’s store in Owatonna, Minnesota. The sauce is available in stores located within a 50-mile radius of our community.
