Nan Larson is AURI’s Director of Innovative Networks. AURI has developed the Innovation Network Program to create a systems approach to integrate scientific assistance, development and research, business planning, and targeted network outreach to assist businesses that will produce value-added ag commodities and products.
Larson identifies and evaluates opportunities to advance AURI’s value-added ag research initiatives, builds partnerships, and coordinates various events to make AURI’s research available and advance value-added agriculture in Minnesota. She also serves as a spokesperson for AURI to promote its mission, goals, services and outcomes on a statewide basis, and presents information on value added ag opportunities to the public.
Larson has a B.S. in Political Science/Public Administration and an M.A. in Urban and Regional Studies from Minnesota State at Mankato and is a Certified Economic Development Finance Professional by the National Development Council. She has a 20-year working history in the economic development field, with an emphasis on strategic partnering, facilitation, planning, and management. Larson has a wide network of contact resources for project management, implementation, and support. She also has experience in writing and administering grants and has served on the Southwest Minnesota Workforce Council board for the past four years.
